A terrible thing to say.

There are plenty elderly Somalis who've been forced to live in undignifying conditions. Both in the diaspora and in their native lands.

Like I've already mentioned, any desire to give comes from charity, not a cultural ideal centred on responsibility. Give, by all means. There are many who need it. But I won't be swayed by emotional back stories. I've come across my share of people who've lied about rape in order to get refugee status. And I'm certain I'm not alone on that.

I used to believe in a "Somaliweyn". Sorry to burst your bubble, but it has never and will never exist. "Somaliweyn" is entirely political and nothing but a "squiggly line on the planet". There are probably more groups and parties fighting each other in the Horn than there are all across the continent. It ain't happening.
Somaliweyn as a political entity might never exists. Somaliweyn as a land mass inhabited by somalis already exists.

I went from ethiopia to somaliland to puntland and never stayed in a hotel. I stayed with strangers who took me in like family regardless of my tribe.

Theres a difference between living a poor mans life and living in absolute poverty.

Nobody in canada lives in absolute poverty. Charity is optional sxb but these people have a right on not only you not only me but on mankind.

Truth be told no one gives a fuck about them. Make a diffrence
