Waryaa, actually there are some admirable men and women who have fought for our independence and for our existence. Xaawo Taako is one of them (notice that no one mentioned her). But, you are right their dreams/struggles have been turned into nightmares by others.
Hyper, I did something which I usually don't do; write a xadith and an aayah to support my thesis; I was expecting maasha allah!
The camel issue is funny; I was sent a PM the other day and somebody asked me " Lamagoodle geelina xagguu daaqaa"? it was a sophisticated way of saying what is your tribe. I replied that they were dancing in Lido. This person believed it and started telling me that I belonged to the reer xamar tribe

The_Emperor,
Thanks for the info. Greatly appreacited.
Jalaludiin,
You claim that Ahmed Gurey was Oromo, but my question to you is this: if you are given a headless potrait that displayes a strong male figure, but left up to you to compliiment it with a male head or femal head that you need to pick and chose from another place, which head would you chose to finish off the portrait?
My point is that you cannot put Oromo man ahead of Somali warriors. Simply that is not possible. In addition to that Harar has alaways been desrcibed as a Somali town. The 18 century travellers and the British inviders both spoke of it as a Somali town. I recently read a book in which the writer says ' except the European part which is quite moderater the rest of the city is mad of the old homes of Somali and Arab residents'. There was no mention of Oromos.
