Correct me if I'm wrong but blessings/permission can only be denied
on reasonable grounds?
Also is it true after a certain age or a remarriage permission isn't required.

I'm pretty sure every woman needs a wali for a marriage contract.Saraxnow wrote:abdikarim86 wrote:Saraxnow wrote:^^If the Wali is against the marriage on unreasonable grounds, then the judge/courts take over. I believe this is what happened, but good on them.

Yes.What I know is that the Wali can only refuse proposals based on religiosity, not race social status, wealth etc.If he keeps rejecting proposals then authority goes to his closest male relative.
Yep,as Westy said, if she's a divorcee or widow she doesn't need a wali.
I think in the Hanafi school of thought a divorced women does not need a wali. The other school of thoughts still say that a wali is needed if I remember correctly.Alphanumeric wrote:I'm pretty sure every woman needs a wali for a marriage contract.Saraxnow wrote:abdikarim86 wrote:![]()

It's not something to cheer about, this is why you find Xalimos getting married to convict ajnabis. The father should be reasonable but It's pretty damn sick for the girl to choose a guy over her parents. As for the guy, he ain't no real man if he can't take a no from the father and needs to get his ass whooped.Saraxnow wrote:^^If the Wali is against the marriage on unreasonable grounds, then the judge/courts take over. How is that video related to the subject at hand?![]()
It is so intriguing how you are trying really hard to connect two things that have nothing to do with one another. First, the interview was conducted by Zakariye Aden of Universal TV, who is a Southerner himself and the way in which he asked questions is not of our concern, although I thought it was unprofessional to come out and ask questions so directly. So don't make it seem that he was been treated unfairly by certain people. Second, nobody discriminated against that hardworking young man, and I chose to post the video because I thought he was admirable man. Furthermore, the young man didn't say for once that he was discriminated against, and the girl he loves was refused for him to marry in fact he said the opposite. I am just wondering how you come to the conclusion that he was![]()
Somalis discriminate against one another, and it is not unique to a certain group of people so I don't get why you are pointing fingers. As someone else mentioned, if your sister or other members of your family were to marry someone from these minority groups who are discriminated against, i bet you would have been singing a different tune. Don't act like you are better than anyone else.
