Somaliland seceding is nothing but a slight bruise to our pride, it is not really a disaster to the Somali people, a small minority decided to betray the Somali race and secede, I say fok em, we shouldn't recognize them but just continue on ignoring them, eventually the people of Somaliland will revolt against their unrecognized state and then the SNA will move in and take over, but what is the rush, these people aren't important in my opinion, they do not make or break Somalia or the Somali race, they like a strain of hair, if a clan like Darood decided fok it we will make our own country, that would be a disaster, same with Hawiyo.

but clans like Isaaq, Raxanweyn, these are people under our control, they should be happy with whatever they get.

D&M is 23 percent in somalia
issaq is 20 percent in somalia
Hawiye is 25 percent in somalia
Dirs is 8 percent
others is 6 percent

rw, maybe (or maybe not) it is good for sland to secede, however, your five reasons do not carry any weight when it comes to things like cutting a country in into two

I think the best way to approach this complicated issue would be to create different study groups from both sides before any secession negotiations:
1- economic viability - both sides
2- national security - both sides
3- the pandora's box. If Somalia is divisible, so is Somaliland - are Somaliland secessionists willing to let Borame and Las Ano go if these regions want to stay in the union?
4- we are tribal society. Isaqs want to secede but Dhulbahante will never allow that. Things like this must be solved too.

I think it's too late to create an independent experts into studies what's best for both people. On the other hand, since we take back our country from union business of crossing the border between Somalia and Somaliland and the border Somaliland and Ismaamulka somalida Ethiopia was always healthy and people continue flourishing business of both sides.
The people of Somaliland have one set goal which is to preserve the principle of the right to self-determination and controlling their own destiny but you are right the issue of Dhulbahante and Warsangeli has to be resolved. I hope one day there will be border demarcation so those border regions will be part of Somalia.

Takale, I wasn't expecting people here will get into heated debates. I have read all and as I was expecting I have seen some good debaters and some brain dead debaters
among them was Perfec Order. He takes an objective viewpoint regards Somalis issues, even though he needs proper research to be more academic debater.
