Yeah, I get the "qof la yaqaano keen" from time to time. It's mainly from relatives too. I think it'd be extremely difficult to marry into a tribe/clan that is foreign to your family. If you have a sibling or a cousin who married into xyz, and you're with someone from that tribe/clan, than things should be jiggy. If you're the pioneer, Illahay ha ku sahlo

Something funny happened recently, wiil aa gabar loo diide and his brother gets angry and says "ma boon aa nahay" this really made me laugh because he wants his qabiil to be respected yet he does not respect other qabiils? would he be fine with the rejection had he been boon?

I value a diversity of opinions, but those two scenarios above are no go zones for me.

Anigoo yar ayaan caashaqay oo reeraheena iga doonaan iri. Qabiil iyo sheekooyinkaa yaaba ku fakaray.
Re: We do not marry those people....
People who are qabiilist usally end up with qabiils they hate the most. I've seen too many examples to count. Girls usually are victim of this. Hate/love and before you know she's down for everything

Re: We do not marry those people....
You are not Somali if You don't get that relative every now and then that says that, but who are we kidding here? Wallahi Here in 2013, forget Somali clan X, if Your Son/Daughter marries a Muslim the Parents should be happy. Deep down most Parents know this but after a little fuss, they'll get over it.
Still though, there is a valid point in that if a marriage is deteriorating when both are the same clan, there is a much better chance at a intervention then if there are different clans. The Guys family will pressure Him to fix whatever He's doing wrong and push him towards her, and the girl's family will pressure her to do the same and push her towards Him. Usually if there are different clans both families position kinda becomes hardened and they are a lot more cold with each other. On My end observing a lot of MX/MX couples it seems like the whole tol wants them to succeed, whereas with a different mix there are some folks who will jump up in arms at the first sign of trouble. Messed up but true. I'd say two people from different clans get married only if there compatibility and maturity is strong and they can withstand some adversity. Don't under estimate family pressure.
