No, they evolved from Victorian era sciences. They were devised by eugenicists. I don't know how it is in the Americas but one thing that pisses me off over here is the fact that Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Chinese all get separate boxes on census forms or any form for that matter, but not Somalis. I will not stand for that.

Different here. Our differences were based on economical/political and social reasons. There was a time where whites were considered different from one another, and then blacks came to the north in large numbers and all of a sudden the Irish/catholic who was hated was made white, so that they wouldn't join/vote with the blacks against the ruling whites.
