Shown my cards?
I love snetters like you. Of 30+ posts of mine you pick the one line where I was playfully responding to someone commenting on a less than favorable position some women place themselves in. Bravo.

And who sanctioned anything? Should I join in the league of men here and slander these women? No thank you, I don't roll like that.
Men want to call women who know they deserve more than a lazy horny faarax feminists.
There are plenty of good men on here and I am a staunch believer that we are not helpless in finding an educated, intelligent, SOMALI man who knows that one of us are enough. Those voting in favor of polygamy do not make up the whole. Sadly, it's the polygamist voices that are the loudest and most accusatory though.

It's all selfish
The man is thinking about his johnson. The woman is thinking about money or being childless at whatever age. Then they create an entire segment of society who are single mothers while being married
Kids whose parents married but they don't live with both parents and hardly ever see their father
Selfish. Xaq extends not just to all your wives but arguably more important, all your children

But no, let me just find another wife to serve my desires because it's permitted. Support all 30 of my children? But how do you expect me to afford that?

Aniga waxaan ka yaaba. While the man is off having his desires serviced who's looking after his wife's?
Or do her desires work on a start and stop function like modern engines. Funny argument

Com'n sisters, quit generalizing all men who have several wives and stop claiming they don't raise their children. By and large, majority of the men do. The single-mother phenomenon is relatively new in the West and was unheard of in Somalia, and having many wives is not the issue here. Let us get real here. There are other causes, but I have never heard nor read reports where children and wives are neglected in the West because the men are going back home and marrying younger wives while they abandon their wives and children in the West.
And who said men with several wives don't love all of their wives and children equally? If the husband has any religious understanding, it is clear he needs to be fair to all of his wives and children.
Realistically speaking, to marry a second or more wives is not an easy thing to do due to the moral, financial, physical, and emotional commitments. However, it is allowed in Islam, and if there are men who can fulfill all of that, maasha'Allah , more power to them.

The woman can only reproduce until she's about 40 (unless solicited by modern scientific methods) but the man can go on even if he's 100. Therefore, a second (atleast) is a must down the line

Seriously??
I'd like to think, I would/will annoy him and satisfy him for 1, 2 , 3 or even 4.
Lakin I have conflicting views on this subject, but some very good points were made in this thread.

lol@ lazy horny faarax. I agree with u that Somali women should have high standards for themselves, given that they have a lot to offer too. I actually like you Evol, cuz ur pro-Somali and pro-Faarax for the most part. I just dislike when women wanna have their cake and eat it too, which is the goal of feminism. Not saying u neccessarily support that.

Self-control waa a requirement of being a functioning and responsible adult. If all I think about is shopping, is it a good enough excuse to bankrupt my husband

As disturbing as "habeenba mid buu usoo degi lahaa" sounds to me you are right, if they are happy then that's their life and their choice
As long as the children aren't being raised in a broken home which was caused by "halal" practices
gegiroor wrote: I have never heard nor read reports where children and wives are neglected in the West because the men are going back home and marrying younger wives while they abandon their wives and children in the West.
No in those scenarios they tend to abandon the wife and children that are back home

Because supporting women's rights makes me unlikable. I get it.

I appreciate the kind words, and I firmly support those faarax's worth supporting. But I do definitely support feminism, because we sure as heck know that men usually won't be doing that for us.
Don't disrespect fighting for women's rights as having our cake and eating it too. You have been negatively impressed by the western idea of feminism and women's rights, when they are just crazy bra burners who argue petty things like 'no it should be womyn, not woman' lol
