congrats walal. Ignore these qabilist freaks. Qabil does not matter it's about the individual and your mum/family seem sensible enough unlike people here with qabil obsessed families.Theguardian wrote:Well, that went unexpectedly well. No question about clan or if he is Somali - I told her he was Somali and she just gave me a look.
Asked if his family knew and I said yes- then she said -"they call us when they are ready".
She asked what he does for living, his age, where he grow up and where he lives - was happy when I told her he lives local.
Asked me his mother name but I know only her first name. Asked me his full name - I told her - she think she might know his family![]()
Overall she seems happy![]()
Oh she asked if he goes to the mosque on Fridays - he doesn't - only on Eid day or sometimes his days off - she gave me a look.
Informed him my mother knows - he told his mother so now both parents are on the phone - laughing like old friends.
So they will be agreeing on date to meet.
Oh my mum off the phone now - they agree to speak again middle of this week when relatives are informed, then they will agree on date good for everyone after that.
Oh NOW I know his clan - not far my mine - no beef - the person who said: "some clan men abuse other clan women for revenge" scared me.
(am typing this while am talking to my mum, sad I know)
My mum knows the mother from the mosque so it is all good.
Your probably right I see too many young qabilist folks. It's a terrible disease that consumes you and once you get it you can't get rid. All the qabil I learnt through here is sickening when I go to my family with the stuff I learnt they be like how you know this stuff.QuantumSatis wrote:^There is no hope somaliman. The individuals who write here are supposed to be of the generation that saved the future for Somalis for their bitter experience with clan associations. Yet, they are here maintaining the status quo with their verbal contribution.
It is tragic to see how quickly they convinced this young sweet woman about clan bullshit. Clan bullies with no dignity. There is no worse punishment on earth for Somalis than this to be honest with you.
My dear friend - I will never introduce him to this place - it is so addictive -it will take some of attention from me- I been here every day since I started posting it - I need to slow it down I think. But I am glad I joined - I get to speak to nice somali people like you.QuantumSatis wrote:TheGuardian
Don't introduce your guy to somalinet please. You will regret showing him the forums. Just needed to let you know that in advance. With all the details you wrote about your relationship and whatnots, protect your secret with vigil![]()
It is quite bothersome that you felt uncomfortable with the clan issue suddenly after reading how some Somali men abused women they married because those women come from a rival clan. Those are isolated incidents only to those sick men and don't represent Somalis in general. Only sick savages who have no class do that to women they marry. We should not tell stories like that as representative of Somalis because it doesn't happen often.
Marriage is out of love, Or out of tradition. And both instances they should bring joy and responsibility to parties involved. The man who marries another woman to exact clan revenge on her is mentally s-I-c-k fuck to begin with. Nothing to do with our realities.
Don't get sick please by reading too retarded comments about Clans on this website. Be yourself. Clan talk here doesn't represent Somalis in general but individual contributors who have no respect for religion and good culture.
They should ban any individual who negatively writes about A Somali Clan. No exceptions. This place would be better and welcome for the young generation that way.
Thanks brother.Somaliman% wrote:congrats walal. Ignore these qabilist freaks. In my family we don't care about tribe most of the qabil stuff i know I learnt through snet since I was here from 16 years old.
Also when I married my wife whose from a totally different clan. I met her mum first for a chat in the evening it was pleasant and cool. Although very nervous I told her why i wanted 2 marry her daughter lol. She then told the dad and my male relatives didn't meet hers till nearly wedding time kos both our fathers were in somalia.
None of this calture bullshit matters. There isn't a one way of doing things. Be somali and proud but do your own thing don't let calture dictate your life. One thing though prayer is important tell your fiance salad tuuko especially Friday's.
