Did he repremand the killings? How do you know he didn't order them. Cumar ibn khattab was a leader. If anything happened on his books it was his fault. Not just because his generals or people were running rampant in the land.

Did siad do good? Ofcourse he did. My mother learnt in a school system provided by the gov't in the 60's and finished in the 70's. He helped somali's progress. But to overshadow his mishaps would be extremely wrong historically in record books and just honestly making him out to be some african pious leader which he wasn't. He did a lotta wrong and people know it. Notice how the mareexans are hiding it like it's islamically correct. I can easily tell you abdullahi yusuf has killed innocent people and was not a good person in the past. He could and maybe is currently changed who knows but did he do wrong? I guran dam tee it.

I don't stick up for a warlord. Not your warlord not my reer mahad warlord not my dad if he were a warlord not anybody. The reason the civil war happened is because something was wrong. Mistrust maybe? Clan hegemony? definetly. Civil wars don't pop up for no reason. Your letting a group of people who've been taken advantage of outta their proverbial cage to run rampant thru the land.

People keep highlighting that somalis would be better with a dictator like siad. Is this true? It's from who's perspective. The organized structure of any gov't is better. But too a human being does it really feel good when a 18 yrs old kid is driving his land cruiser in the streets of xamar and its all because his father was friends/tribesman/ or business partner with aabe.

atleast you fockers weren't homeless when he was in office and not qaxooti's, shouldn't you be thankful for that?

putting aside the mistakes he made which is common for the most part of african learders, past and present; what he did for Somali was a great achievment and worth a big deal of respect

i can sincerely say, those of you who said negative things about this dead former Somali President is nothing but a hatred motivated by 'qabiil' and nothing else

therefore you lot disqualify your selves from this thread or anything said about him

Those who are praising him aren't exactly from his clan either huh? Your actor observer bullshit is not working with me and any buddy with a brain. Shit its like justifying prostituting girls. A pimp will say " Atleast they have a place too sleep and make some money" See where you are going. Siad diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid a heck of alot for somali's but we are were we are for a reason. And not because aideed was let outta prison. Tensions rise for a reason just like sperm dude Laughing

Hey if you are naive enough(maybe I am too..I am only human) to consider only one side of the coin...then its your problem....but he didnt come to power by spilling blood and he certainly left when he could've spilled more blood and these are facts not my opinion.

With that said...you are right I shouldnt be generalizing into calling all ppl savages...afetr all we had some accomplishments in some parts of the country...but hey I am sure you cant blame me for being an emotional Nationalist...who btw basis his words on facts 95% of the time. Smile[/quote]

Cawar I have long realized Samatr is always high on khat or aalkolo and sometimes on a mixture of both. Somebody give him early intro course on "bloodless" coup..

There are few things that I look for a president or head of government like a Prime Minister to follow.

1) To obey the constitution of the land and not openly regard that they are above the law. Siyad Baree proved to be a dictator and wrote the constitution as it fits his mood.

2) To do more more good than negative----siyaad Barre failed---the Somali language was written before he came to power---but there was a disagreement on it in the parliament---because the democractically elected parliament before him shelved because it could never been agreed which dialect of Somali accent should be the standard written Somali. He forced an already written language on all Somalis because he was a dictator and can do so. That is the only positive argument made by Barre's supporters. He was a real foker to most Somalis.

3) He was a dictator and never tolerated dissent and killed his opponents. His supporters like Qaniisgabeyle will support sharia laws----just like afweeyne's sharia laws.

4) He was the least educated Somali of thousands of great Somalis educated and had great leadership qualities.

5) Due to his lack of education, he had very little knowledge of Islam, and murdered the best crop of Somali Muslim scholars when they challenged him.

6) He was the sort of leader to have if that community is cursed by Allah SWT which is only second to Quuma Luut.

Look at Somalia, Iraq, East Timor, and Palestine....when people have been oppressed for a long time and hungry----they will become anarchic.

Least but not last, he hired South African pilots to bomb maim and kill other Somalis off all ages during the apartheid era of South Africa. He was like a black American man commissioning the KKK to kill black communities. I'm ashamed to be a Somali like Afweeyne, and that is why I call him an evil monster.
