I don't know who Jamal Ali is but this well-written pieace sums up the reality in Somalia and the so-called TFG goons.

Our country is at crossroads and most likely will remain in this current predicament and appalling situation of perpetual chaos, instability, and senseless death and destruction for at least the remaining days of these moribund and misguided TFG puppets. This seemingly endless trail of death and disaster makes peace more elusive than ever.

For many years, Somalia has been mired by a brutal and catastrophic civil war where for many families deaths and destructions have became part of their daily lives. The ensuing Ethiopian conquest of our country in cahoots with the TFG has further exacerbated a fragile and precarious situation. The catastrophic consequences and carnage in Mogadishu sanctioned and supported by the United States of America is clear and present danger that will remain vividly in the minds and hearts of every conscious Somali person with some sense of nationalism.

Amidst of all these perils, it is flabbergasting to witness the euphoria and elation of the TFG leaders and their supporters who are at times shedding crocodile tears while preying on their own people. Worst yet, they have obstructed the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the thousands of refugees fleeing for their lives without food, water and basic necessities. It is this grim reality in Somalia that human rights and humanitarian organizations suggested the situation as one of serious in terms of human suffering and human right violations and that prompted the question of who will be accountable and responsible for this unprecedented disaster.

The drivers and dynamics of Somali saga is very intricate and is characterized by set of interrelated issues that need to be examined closely. Among these include:

Vicious and hegemonic warlords (TFG) determined to impose their authority with deadly enemy force
Vengeful and pseudo-intellectuals venting their spleen in support of the warlords
Victimized Somali civilians
Vicious Warlords

Some leaders in our society are well known today because they killed more people. These individuals who are currently members of TFG are directly and indirectly responsible for the killing and slaughtering of thousands of Somalis and countless destruction of private properties. The barbaric regime of Ethiopia has been manipulating these ignorant warlords to prevent any hope of peace in Somalia. Evan though, they constantly fought against each other, they were all getting their weapons from the Ethiopian government which is undoubtedly a sworn enemy of Somalia. These coldhearted individuals have no respect for human life even those who rally behind them.

In addition, they generated lots of wealth by erecting check points and road blocks to extort money from mainly poor and defenseless people. They also used kidnappings for ransom. When their militias were fighting in Mogadishu and else where in Somalia, they were meeting and enjoying themselves in their favorite and most expensive hotels in Nairobi, Addis-Ababa, Cairo and Djibouti. Surprisingly, when they came back from their lavish meetings, they were telling their supporters in their areas of control that they were protecting the interests of their clans.

Further more, during the 16 years of relentless bloodshed, they have been used by their Ethiopian masters to sabotage and undermine all the reconciliation attempts made by the international communities, peace loving Somali groups and politicians because they didn’t want to be out of business. More importantly, they never wanted to upset their Ethiopian bosses. The Ethiopian regime’s intention was to create wreak-havoc in Somalia in the short term and to conquer it in the long run, and thanks to the warlords that is what we are experiencing today.

Vengeful Intellectuals

A mid tragedy in our homeland, my primary source of information about Somalia has been and still is the Somali Websites. While their efforts to bring the latest news from back home to their readers are commendable, I am dismayed to come across the writings of some pretentious intellectuals posted on the websites. Their articles are filled with diatribes lashed out against prudent peace loving Somali politicians who are tirelessly trying to find a solution to the Somali crises. To attract the readers’ attentions, they highlight their academic credentials such as PhD and Dr. However, their writings show the opposite because they incite hatred and are filled with abusive and disparaging tones.

More over, they use clan-based bias, popular prejudices and spurious claims to attack the opponents of their clan based warlords. To them, moral responsibility doesn’t count, and they use their educated wit as insolence. One can only infer from their vilifying writings that they are doing dirty jobs for the warlords. While the warlords kill innocent people in Somalia, their friends do character assassination to the most respected politicians through rumors and smears. Just like the warlords, they are against common sense, common honest and common decency. They misstate, falsify and distort the truth.

These individuals offer no solutions to the Somali plight, rather, they advise us to support the TFG which basically consists of the same warlords who committed the worst crimes against our people, and have neither the skills nor the intelligence to rule a country. It is because of their treasonous actions that our country is under occupation today. Their fairy tales are nothing more than whitewashes. They are too simplistic and condescending that they cannot tell you when or if the Ethiopian occupier will leave the country because they are blinded by tribalism and cannot see any further than the end of their noses.

Victimized Civilians

It is excruciatingly painful to watch the scope and scale of the mayhem and misery inflicted to our people by Ethiopian army and the carnage in Mogadishu. The post apocalyptic kind of Mogadishu landscape became littered with corpses of non-combatant civilians including innocent mothers, feeble and frail elderly grandparents as well as children of all ages. They also indiscriminately raped countless numbers of our women including house wives and girls as young as 10 years old.

Every decent Somali man and woman must be ashamed of the situation that our country is in, and what we have done to ourselves. As we all know, clanism has been the outward manifestation of our country’s demise. It costed us too many lives, and uprooted too many Somalis from their homes. Today, some extended families do not have anyone that they hold dear in Somalia, and may be that is one of the reasons why some of us are losing their sense of patriotism.

I’m extremely saddened, and utterly disturbed by the lack of sensitivity demonstrated by the misguided supporters of the TFG. For example, when the Ethiopian tanks and artilleries were pounding in Mogadishu, and bodies of Somali men, women, children, elderly and the handicapped were laying in the dust streets because it was too dangerous to collect them, they were throwing extravagant parties and celebrating in North America, Europe and else where in support of the Ethiopian occupiers and their TFG stooges. These kind of inconsiderate and thoughtless behaviors only contribute to the division of our society and play into the hands of our enemy. The agony and suffering of our people are beyond any body’s imagination, and what is more disheartening is that the brunt of the Somali plight has fallen upon the defenseless segments of our people.

Conclusion

As the author of Black Hawk down put it “If all Somalis were sent to hell, their vehicle would have been tribalism”. In fact, we are good example of why some animals eat their own. Nevertheless, since we now know the wicked intentions of the Ethiopian regime, and that tribalism is our weakness, and the fate of our country is in a dire, it is time to put our differences and grievances a side and face the real enemy that is trying to wipe the Somali map out of the world. One should ponder and remember the old adage ‘Ill-gotten gains never prosper’ and the euphoria and anticipation of the evil axis will be short-lived and the struggle for the liberation of Somalia will prevail.

We also need to equally confront the villain warlords and their pseudo intellectuals who are in agreement to serve their Ethiopian masters well. Because of their inhuman and criminal actions, our people and country have been victimized by our old foe, and our people suffered calamity of the Ethiopian occupation. For these reasons, it is the obligation of every true Somali patriot to answer the call of duty and join the brave compatriots who are resisting and fighting for the liberation of our country. We have to be resolute and steadfast against all temptations and tricks that our enemy may employ to pacify our resistance. The ultimate goal should and must be an unconditional withdrawal of the Ethiopian forces from our soil.
