ISLAMIC INSURGENTS CLAIM MOGADISHU ROAD SIDE BOMB ATTACKS

Muslim Youth Movement, A Somali Insurgence Group has claimed the resposibility an explosion tageted to Ethiopian troops convoy in The Somali capital, Mogadishu.
One person was killed and other wounded Monday after their convoy was targeted by landmine, witnesses say.

The Ethiopians' six-vehicle convoy had been passing through the southern part of Mogadishu when a land mine detonated in front of the first pickup truck
The troops — who had come from the former Ministry of Defense building — opened fire in all directions soon after the blast, and controlled the scene for 15 minutes before they continued their journey, said another witness
In a statement published on Islamist website, MYM said that teh attack was carried by their fighters against what they describbed as "Ethiopian colonialist and puppet Somali Goverment'
.
It was the latest in a series of explosions targeting convoys of government officials or troops, as Islamic insurgents appeared to be stepping up attacks.
In an other two seperate attacks, Mayor Of Mogadishu Mohamed Omer Mohamed "Mohamed Dhere" and Somali Prime Minister escaped assassination attempts ealier last week.
In a press conference held in Mogadishu, Mayor of Mogadishu accussed "remenants of Union of Islamic Courts" were behind these roadside bomb attacks.
