If I had the power, I would execute Somali pirates who hijack or threaten in any way NGOs or other organizations from delivering food within Somalia.

Nothing is more severe than threatening or impeding the delivery of food to people in a dire humanitarian situation.

I would severely punish any TFG official who tries to extort or take bribes from NGOs in the delivery of crucial humanitarian needs/services.

The reality is that Somali piracy even during the lawlessness times prior to the ICU, the furthest distance recorded on paper of ship hijackings of the coast was just 30miles, all ships were advised to stay of the coast at least 50miles, now we have ships being hijacked 200miles of the coast, (550% increase in distance)

UN food ships are not even hijacked but destroyed by rocket launchers, the pirates are reported to be using modern speedboats, you tell me why a unpaid poor mooriyaan would travel 200miles in water only to destroy UN food ships?

There are hundreds of Asian vessels passing by their waters sometimes worth millions and if you were a poor fisherman wouldn't you do the same?

What does shooting at ships delivering food aid have to do w/ poor fisherman.

SOmalis in general don't fish and even if they do they do it for food. There is really no fishing industry in Somalia to protect as a business.

Besides, I didn't say anything about the fishing vessels who are hijacked b/c they are taking a business risk by violating international waters anyways so it's more of a risk assessment issue for them , I was talking about ships delivering aid.

If they attacked any of the ships from the foriegn fishing fleets,
then they should be honoured as heros, as they are taking what is naturaly ours, our own resources.

I'm talking about ppl impeding the flow of humanitarian aid.......that's so serious b/c they are effectively slow-starving ppl in the middle of huminatarian crisis.
