HOw Ogadens Lost Serenli...Outside of Baardheere

Post by Gedo_Boy »

I have heard Ogadens claiming Baardheere and accusing Marehans of genocide in Gedo and what not. I have found out that this is not true.

There was long-standing feuds w/ Cawliyan and Marehan in that area and in the early 1900s the Aulihan were enemies w/ all the Somalis around them and they picked a fight w/ the British and their rebellion was eventually put down.....

The article is called: "British Perspectives on Aulihan Somali
Unrest in the East Africa Protectorate,
1915–1918
"

"http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:GlsliCuqXPMJ:muse.jhu.edu/demo/northeast_african_studies/v006/6.1simpson.pdf+marehan+colonel+hoskins&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=4&gl=us"

The Sack of Serenli
On 2 February 1916, the disaster that British officials had feared would one
day happen in the NFD occurred in neighboring Jubaland. There, a large party.....

The Aulihan and Other Somali Clans
Much to the relief of anxious colonial authorities, the leaders of other Somali
clans, who likewise experienced the indignities of British rule, refused to join
‘A b d u r rahman Mursaal.
Without doubt, part of the reason for their re t i c e n c e
l ay in the already existing conflicts among the Somali clans, and had nothing to
do with the Aulihan headman per se. To take the case of the Mare h a n ,
‘A b d u r rahman Mursaal had supported a British attempt to disarm them in 191 3
and, not surprisingly, the Marehan still had not forgotten his collabora t i o n .

Indeed, the Marehan’s feud with the Aulihan, not to mention the camel raid led
by ‘A b d u r rahman Mursaal himself, had been the proximate cause for the dispute
with Lieutenant Elliot. Why then should they join his rebellion? Much the same
can be said for the Muhammad Zubeir whose elders refused to participate in a
g e n e ral uprising even though they we re heavily pressed by some of their more
restless youth who sympathized with the Au l i h a n

That guy Mursal and his Aulihan raided the hell out of Samburu and they were playing tit 4 tat with Marehan and he even tried to help the British disarm the Marehan in their 1913 rebellion Laughing even the Muhammad Zubeir didn't help the Aulihan...........

siduu isla qumanyahay he tried to get Marehan help when he was fighting the British and the Marehan were like " go to hell"

They voluntarily left for Kenya like we left our original deegaans. They liked to raid and since they could not raid somali clans without being raided themselves, they went to Kenya to raid the booran, rendile etc who are some very weak people.
