This is not for qabiliste and their ilks but a serious question.

Is the warrior tug placed on the Dhulbahantes clan justified by military history or is it just a myth promugulated by some? in a nutshell, how good were or are Dhulbahantees in battle fighting?

Have they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of other Somali clans? I dont want to sound very naive, but I like to debunk myths.

What do you think all?

The Dhulbahante are a fairly warrior like clan. They, however, have been chased away time and time again by the Habar Jeclo. Their main cities were taken away by force and they had no choice but to relocate to other places, for example:

Their biggest city in Sanaag was called Gar-Adag. It was taken by force from the Dhulbahante by subclans of HJ, mainly the Muse Abokor.

Their biggest settlement however was the city of Caynabo, in Cayn their traditional stronghold. Cayn and Caynaba were wrestled from them in the 1950s by the warring clan of Habar Jeclo, again on the hands of subclans of Muse Abokor. They suffered an embarissing defeat and were forced to flee down south to Buuhodle and Hawd where the reer Hagar and others created new settlements.

Thats were the old saying:
20 jirka Habar Jeclo iyo 60 jirka Dhulbahante Cayn kuma heshiiyaan, because the HJ was born into the place while it was a HJ territory while the old Dhulbahante knows the land really belongs to his forefathers.

And thats where Yawle, a Habar Yonis poet said:

Allaylehee Isaaq baa mulkiyey, maaxdii Caynaba.
They also used to live in many places in Togdheer and Hawd but again they were wrestled them by the Habar Jeclo, Maxamed Abokor subclans.

I forgot to mention that they used to live in Erigavo city too, the capital of Sanaag. But they were chased from there too by Habar Yonis subclans of Muse Ismaaciil.

Im sure there is more to it but thats mostly what I know.

Dont be fooled though, its the most fighter clan in Harti.

Haber jealous and Haber Younis have conquared most of Xarti land in Eastern Sanaag and Sool and Hawd.

Haber Younis and Idegale in the Hawd, South, and East have have conquared Ogaadeen land. Especially the Reer Issak Ali and Harun, and Reer Abdeli inc Reer Dulal, and Makehill inc. Abrahim and Gumcadle.

Yawle was Haber Younis, Musa Ismail, Reer Awal.

He later conprised Daarod-ku- Xaar, when the Haber Younis went deep into Harti land conquaered all the way near Galcayo.

For some reason the funniest people i meet always seem to be Dhulbahante. I dont know about if they are Warriors but they are good people.

Is he begging for mercy from the Dhuloos?

I am quite sure, Ogaadeen must have smashed Dhulos once or twice in history? aren't Dhulos neighbours of Abraahims and Reer Issaqs?

Here is what Haber Younis and some Musa Aboker done to Harti.

Habar Yoonis after submmiting the Harti to their knees after killing 200 in Cagaarweyne named the battle " Daarood Ku Xaar", and mind you Cagaarweyne is in the heartland of Xaarti land few killomters from Galaadi and Gaalkacyo.

The Habar Yoonis held into Galaadi for 7 stright months with no Harti in site despite the Italians aid , from Awaare to Galaadi, have we left any land for the Daarood.

Ben Dover U cannot compare the history of dhuloos and haber jeclo, remember dhuloos was almost wiped out they lost 75% of their populaion.

Dhuloos is the only tribe in da north that never signed treaty of protection with the British
