Yeah, Ganaane is another name for the Jubba River. Older Mareexaans use it, apparently that is what it is called in Ethiopia also.

This old reer Ahmed man who used to be our neighbor who taught me about the history of Mareexaan Guri and I had a communication brake down once after he kept saying "webiga Ganaane" and I had no idea he meant the Jubba River but I did not want to disrupt him at the same time.
