in islam you can only do so if your parents have a illegitimate reason (e.g. he is not somali)

but a lot of somali girls get married regarding what the deen say's...i hear bout a lot of girls get married without the appropriate procedure...without a wali(father/brother/uncle) a girls marriage is not halal

but i'm asking would any of you do so?????

that's because the marriage wasn't blessed.....and your turning against your mum so that back fires because of the high status of the mother

somali parents only say no to non somalis...99% of the time they will say yes to a somali regardless of their clan.

that's so true the only clan most parents are against is midgaan(no offence to anyone im just stating facts) but others are all ok...but when it comes to non-somali's it's HELL NO...and in that case you can marry without their approval but i still think you should try persuade your parents instead of turning away from them....with enough du'a and the right state of mind allah(swt) will make it easier for you but most somali's don't see it like that

no only some say no to different clan's but most allow every somali unless parent is racist to a certain clan...and bad name that's true and if their family isn't "good enough"

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked read this

Anyway, one time when I was working in Africa, my beautiful Somali girlfriend came to me and said she was pregnant. Do you know what I did? I told her to pee in a glass and give the urine to my houseboy and sent him to the laboratory. The next day he came back with the results. The girl was really pregnant. So I took full responsibility for it, because that

girl was a quite decent girl and I was the only white guy around in miles, so I would see very quickly if the baby would not be mine. Also it happened that the condoms we used broke during sex. Accidents happen, you have to live with it. I said to the girl, that for me it is okay to have the kid and I would support her and the child on monthly basis. She said she would think about it. She decided to have an abortion. I really disliked her decision and tried to convince her to have the baby. I even told her that I would marry her for the sake of it. She discussed it with her parents but she came back and said, that in their culture a girl should be married before getting pregnant and the kid would not be seen in a good way or something like that. Even I did what I could to save that child’s life, I felt bad for over a year. I even cried sometimes (sorry for getting sentimental). I don’t know but for me, to kill my own child is something extremely serious. You can not imagine what you are going through until you are in this situation.
