The mise-use of the phrase Radhiallahu canhu

Post by Warsame101 »

Certain individuals on this forum have attached this phrase at the end of either the two Sheikhs (Sheikh Daarood and Sheikh Isaaq) or any other close individual.

The phrase actually means may "Allah be pleased with him". It is a grave mistake to attach this phrase to any deceased individual. Why? Because the phrase is exclusively used for the Saxaabas since we all know that the Saxaabas are the people of Jannah. Allah (SWT) has specifically sent down an ayat making clear that he is pleased with the Muhajirun and the Ansar (i.e. the Saxaabas) and he has promised them the eternal Paradise.

"And those who have proceeded from the Muhajirun and the Ansar, and those who follow them in goodness, Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with him." (9:100)

For every deceased Muslim that came after them, we use the term raximullah, meaning "May Allah have Mercy on him" since we do not his final abode, whether it is Jannah or Hell-Fire, and thus ask Allah (SWT) to forgive him and grant him Jannah.

So becareful of mis-using these phrases.
