Mom basically thinks that Hijaab is cultural, what a lost cow

It thinks it is just the fear of the unknown that makes the parents a lil uneasy.
Everybody wants their kids to grow up like they did, so a somali mother will associate the fact that her daughter is not wearing the hijab with her straying away from her roots.

What unknown are you talking about???
The mother grew up a muslim.If the daughter grows up non-muslim the result is known.
She is worried her daughter could end up in Jahanam, Jaxiima, Xumaza, Hawiyah, etc.

One fact to note clearly is thousands and thousands of muslim girls of her age are following their diin without any problem.
It is not like the kufars are forcing them to remove hijab or wear shorts in public.

Secondly, person’s clothes do not determine their religious piety. One can have on a burqa and still have bad iimaan.

It sickens me when I see a girl wearing the Hijaab and what looks like she is following the same deen as me, then you look closer and she has a cigerette in her hand, or even worse the guy next to her isn't her brother after all, but they are holding hands and displaying a sick show for us.What is eveeeen worse, is I once saw a girl with the Hijaab wearing a short dress (which was really nice btw), only problem was it was just above her knees and she was wearing leggings with it.. Hello? Leggings?..Ok trousers.. But tight azz Leggings? Cajib walahi.

Walle sometimes I feel like going up to those girls and telling them to take if off, how dare they? What religion do they follow again??
Just because they are wearing the Hijaab it is okay do to what they want ?? They think they have met the requirements and Allah swt will be pleased with them?.. Acuduubillah!!!!

So my point is--Basically for some people, they honestly know no better, it's not Islam they are following is Tradition & Culture.
It can work both ways, I say the girl has made a good choice not to wear the Hijaab with Shorts, because they collide-Simple!.. It's either one or the other matey im affraid.. & InshaAllah tacalah, once she gets over her kufar phase, she will learn what Islam is about a little more than 'what my mother follows'.. Ya feel me? Xijaab is a bullschit Arabian culture. Arabs kept their women hidden away. Somali Women in the nomadic society tended their small animals, made household implements, built the Aqal Soomaali, cooked food. They had no time to be wearing cumbersome and impractical tents.
