It is a mutual Somali wedding ,(and ONLY venue of opportunity for our path to cross.) everybody who is somebody is in attendance. Our mutual friend the groom pulls this mysterious --tall abdillahi Yusuf look alike to our table, he is dressed in every white except his sri lanka dark skin and hair.
'Allow me to introduce my best man and best friend" spoke the enthusiastic groom.
'This Luggoyo of Gedo Palace. He is a prince of the Marexaan Himaleyas. The crown prince of reer dalaal."
The groom spoke as he glanced at his increasingly shy friend.
Of course i was seated next to my esteemed, highly glomorous mother and two cheperon aunts.Obiously our eyes meet and we exchanged acknowledgement nods and retreat to silence mixed with body language. He sits at our table without proper invitation, continues to place napkin on his lap, absolutely looking forward to taste the xalwo on the table. He uses spoon and knife of course.

"Do you love Xalwo that much , Sir"? Asked Basra 0k...... i ask him that-- in a spirit of novice, charming and youthful tone.
"Basra-- stop it! That is very rude of you" Mother retorts with scolding tone yet particularly curious to know the answer from the gentleman with the xalwo saliid on his lips.
He takes time to wipe off the saliid first-- and gently smile and says.....
"Xalwo relaxes me.I have a special affinity for xalwo-- donut is my absolute favorite of course. The regular sugary dunkin donut that is- but xalwo has this brilliance of taste that makes me forget the world for a moment.Makes me forget the woes of the Marexaan woes-- and suddenly i am just a regular old man with a plan to one day retire to kismayo"
Basra and her mother-- and the aunts' looked at each other in great chorus, disbelief and disgust. They sized up this man in just a matter of minutes. His pre-occupation with xalwo-- particularly wounded their narcissistic acustomed to flattery nerves ; they noticed the particular lack of the usual excessive acknowledgements from the opposite sex in the debree. Thus, therefore....They rose up all almost at the same speed and nodded their heads-- equally cordial --and quickly walked away, desperately delaying their laughter to the ladies room.
