Radio Freedom correspondent reporting from the battlefront has sent us a report on several battles, which took place in various places in the Ogaden [eastern Ethiopia] between the ONLA [Ogaden National Liberation Army] and colonial Ethiopian troops. The battles, in which colonial Ethiopian soldiers were crippled, took place as follows:
On 5 July 2007, the ONLA carried out a nocturnal attack on enemy troops based in Garigo'an and inflicted losses on them, details of which are unavailable.
On 4 July 2007, the ONLA and colonial Ethiopian troops fought at Bilcil-Lafle in the district of Farmadow. Four colonial soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in the battle. On the same date, at a place called Kurtun in the district of Degeh Bur, the ONLA destroyed an enemy Ural truck, killing 60 Ethiopian soldiers riding in the vehicle. A vehicle that was following behind was seriously damaged after it rammed into the burning truck. Eight soldiers were killed and a number of others were wounded in the second vehicle.
On 2 July 2007, the ONLA and enemy troops clashed at Tulo Awl in Dolo. Four enemy soldiers were killed and six others were wounded. The enemy troops left behind their fellow dead soldiers' bodies. On the same date, the ONLA and Ethiopian troops fought a fierce battle in Afar-Irridod in Dolo, in which 17 seventeen enemy soldiers were killed and nine others were wounded. Enemy troops fled the area, unable to collect their fellow soldiers' bodies.
On 25 June 2007, the ONLA conducted a nocturnal raid against enemy soldiers stationed at Ararso in Degeh Bur, killing three of them and wounding five others.
On 18 June 2007, the ONLA mounted a surprise attack on enemy troops based at Tantomi, killing five soldiers and wounding four others.
