Lieberman: US will back Israeli strike on Iran

Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman said on Tuesday that he received the tacit blessing of Europe and the United States for an Israeli military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

“If we start military operations against Iran alone, then Europe and the US will support us,” Lieberman told Army Radio following a meeting earlier in the week with NATO and European Union officials.

The message Lieberman said the NATO and EU officials conveyed to him is that Israel should "prevent the threat herself ".

This is a pattern in world politics today. EU and UN officials, mainly non-US NATO members, are fiendishly attempting to prevent the United States from playing world puppeteer while wearing the world police outfit. Sort of like, the United States attempts to do the UN's job in its own [unsuccessful] fashion.

Israel better do it now, because the race is on. When Iran officially develops nukes, Israel will be quivering like a sick puppy, because Iran will not hesitate to use them.

Mike,

Such a strike would be ineffective and stupid. Iran has been developing a series of bunkers and facilities to protect their nuclear infrastructure. Also, Iran’s nuclear plants are scattered everywhere in Iran and would take more than one strike to destroy them all; a lesson they learned from the Osirak situation.
