Foreign legion [Angola], under Soviet Paycheck, not Siad Barre. Trained as infantry and later as mechanized infantry.

Ina Baxar,

Mechanized Infantry, or Heavy Infantry -- Jeep/Humvee, Personnel Vehicle, Tank.

I am not Cuban, I am Somali. Somalia had a foreign legion as well as any other organized army in the world. But this wasn't an official wing of the army, it was a Soviet-supported guerrilla group that Siad Barre had trained and donated to Socialist causes around the world, including Angola; and I've heard Mozambique as well but that's unclear.

I entered at the age of seventeen and left at twenty one.

We weren't fighting the Dutch [by Afrikaaners I presume Dutch SA], we fought the Portuguese and other pro-colonial African militias [something you'd dub a Dhabodilif].

This was an unprofessional, though successful militia we were a part of. Mostly teens and young adults, we were put together overnight and our lives signed over to the Soviets until we had freed Angola. During that time, other foreign revolutionaries, much like the foreign Mujahideen in Afghanistan, had liberated 5 other Socialist states in Africa. Just during our period. The Somalis and Cubans were sent to Angola, while others like Arabs were sent elsewhere in the continent to defend social justice and freedom.
