The veteran reer Banaadir Diplomat Danjire Maxamed Cusmaan Cumar revealed one of Barre's remakable characteristics in his book 'The Road to Zero' in 1994. He wrote:

"When he [President Maxamed Siyaad Barre-RH] addressed the people, he had a knack of making his words stick in the minds of his audience. He could address and hold the attention of a mass really for hours--a three hour speech was not unusual. All his speeches were delivered impromptu."

Maxamed Siyaad Barre (RH) is a historical figure.

Maxamed Cismaan is a great man, a great Somali nationalist. A superb representative for Somalia everywhere he went.
