An ugly part of our History:Somalis dancing for the colonial
One member (Somaliweyn) could not believe that Somalis ever danced and waved at the colonalists.
Well here is a footage that actually dispells that misconception:

Re: An ugly part of our History:Somalis dancing for the colonial

So now you want to distort the whole discussion which you was losing?
Here's what u said in the other topic:
''For instance, the history of the Bimaal Dir warriors. These warriors rose up whilst the rest of Hawiye were confusingly throwing the Hitler sign as if it was a greeting sign''
''Believe me when I say that do not want to post the screen-captures of them trowing the Hitler sign. That shameful history should be ignored.''
--------
So this video is your historical evidence of Hawiye throwing Hitler sign while others were fighting?
First of all this video was probably shot in the 1930s when Italia invaded Ethiopia and many Somalis were happy at the unification of all Somali-inhabited regions in Horn Africa under Italian flag.
Secondly, where does it say Hawiye in the video? Those people are Somalis hailing from different clans.
Lastly, the Somali resistance movements were all prior 1930s, the Biimal revolt for example was during 1914-7/8.

Are you disputing the actual-time frame and reason behind the video? I still got the original title and it is called 'The welcome of Governer [insert Italian name]'.
This video was shot in 1916. It also shows the Bimaal warriors in the footage but I left it out due its length.
Fact of the matter is, Bimaal were remarkable warriors who were behind the resistance of Benaadir. I am not going to give credit that you do not deserve. The Bimaals deserve it and credit should be given.

No one is disputing Biimaal resistance, but Benadir witnessed more uprisings.
The history of Biimaal was brushed away by your hero while the Dervish struggle dominated every Somali history, although it occured mainly in North of Somalia.
You just discovered that Biimaal existed yesterday and saw the injustices done to their history by your hero, now u try to do the same injustice to Hawiye subclans which have fought by emphasizing Bimaal revolt at the expense of others?

Somali history was already recorded before acension of President M S Barre, you idiot. Where do you think I found out about Bimaal's history, obviously in the Italian journals.
Bimaal were the defenders and Darawiish of Banaadir and Shabellas, you are just mad that they were not Hawiye. Give credit where its due.

Well you just discovered these Western records, cause that explains your surprise when you read there was even Bimaal revolt. Otherwise would u parade with it like a new found mission
Biimaal people have a great history, and no one can deny their right. The 30 years of state abuse by one group tried that but failed since history is written and cannot be changed by fairytales.

Warsame
War meesha cuqdada kala bax. This footage could not have been taken anytime before 1930. In the footage The cars are quite modern, the camera work is excellent, Italian rule seems absolute and universally accepted and there are electricity poles and modern Italian architecture.
There is no way that the Italians were doing these things in Somalia in 1916 even though the Biyamaal resistance had already petered out. They were facing big trouble from the Daraawiish based in Hiiraan. Gaaljecel hero Sheekh Xassan Barsame was stirring trouble. Wacdaan and many abgaals were restive.
If you are honest about this write the name of the Italian governor. I have a book or a document on a CD that shows a listing of all the Italian governors. Give me the name and I am sure I will discover what time that guy served in Somalia.
Otherwise you are blowing smoke.
And Xamar was home to Somalis of all stripes. There are more than a dozen Mareexaan, Majeerteen, Dhulbahante families I know of who have been in Xamar since the 1920s.
Any shame that attaches to the people you present in that video attaches to Daarood and Mareexaan as well.

Gedo boy,
Benadir and Mogadishu are two different things, I hope u ever realized that.
Mogadishu is the city, and Benadir is the whole coast region between Barawe and Warsheikh. This historical region called Benadir belonged to Mudulood people, Barwanese, Reer Xamar and Dir like Biimaal and Tunni etc.
Your hero decided to change Benadir into Mogadishu and its direct environs.
What we see in the video is Mogadishu which was always multi-ethnic and a true cosmoplitan.
In the video u can see many former slaves celebrating which were freed from Biimaal and Hawiye clans like Gaaljecel and Moobleen etc.
