Just a question?

do you think direction the somali cinema is going is a progress, or are movies one the more things somalia can't do well. this is not just going for Somalia bas, but the overall all African Cinema is just not going anywhere. Bollywood, played a great deal in India's development, so if Somalia concentraited on a specific Industry, would that not eventually help in its development, considering that all the developments of a country are all connected and every industry is connected to another.

this just came up, when I saw that new "Ila qosol", and thought this is only helpin the U.S and it would not help Somalia's development.

Gacalisa, they'd have to get good actors first. Somali actors are crap walaahi, they shout too much, they act on screen as thought they're on stage in a broken down theatre in Xamar....they even look at the bloody camera, forget their lines and repeat them over and over until some other actor corrects them....they're just totally awful.

But you're right....developing Somali arts could improve the image of Somalia and also generate good revenue which would help develop Somalia. Laakin they need to work on the quality of their films....get proper writers, directors, producers and actors, then they'll have real industry. Forget Africa, they could generate interest in the West which is home to most of the Somali Diaspora.
