Somalia political problem is not lack of political reconciliation; it’s rather to do with few Hawiye Warlords and Hawiye Islamists that don’t want to see governance as a way forward. Having government in Somalia and institutions in place would jeopardize their lucrative business profiteering from the chaos.

The above mentioned secular warlords, war criminals, thugs and unsavory elements do not work for the interest of Somalia. They neither represent Somalis. Before/from the start of the civil war, America/Europe/Ethiopia have been financing and arming one or more of the above mentioned unsavory elements. Without American/European/Ethiopian meddling in Somalia's internal affairs, those unsavory elements wouldn't survive. America/Europe/Ethiopia prolonged Somalia's conflict, and are still involved in prolonging the conflict. Therefore, each is responsible for destroying Somalia.

When the Portuguese first arrived in the then tiny city of Mogadischu in the 16th century, they found it riven into warring clan factions.
