Map of current states of Somalia

I think I've got them all here, though I don't know what's going on with Jubbaland, have they declared autonamy or not? What's going on there?

And what's the status of the HG's and Marehans south of Galmudug? I don't think there's a government administration there, but noone else seems to be governing it either. What's going on there, is it in limbo or something?

Confusing times for Somalia to be sure.

There is NO such thing as "MaakhirLand", "DaraawiishLand", or "Puntland". There is only two STATES in Somalia, the new "Somaliland" & ofcourse the rest of the Darod & hawiye affiliated State called "Somalia".

Hey thanks.
I have refined the borders based on some good maps of Puntland, Maakhir and Galmudug I've found.

I've also (warily) added Jubbaland in.

Jubbaland is a constant power struggle, it deserves an empty status.

I think you're right, it's legal status is nowhere near resolved.
The Marehan won the mini-war for Kismayo though, and they redeclared for Jubaland, so until the government can get their act together and do something about it there's a Marehan state from Bardhere to Kismayo to Jilib.

It's tentative though, and I think Jubaland is the least firmly established of all of them, and it wouldn't take much for its status to go unresolved again.

James, what is missing in the Maakhir State is to extend it to Bosaaso. That is part of our territory too.

It's claimed, but Bosaso is the gem of Puntland and they would probably rather lose Garowe than Bosaso. Most of the MPs and businesspeople live there instead of Garowe, and it is functionally the capital.

At most I think I'd make Bosaso disputed, along with Erigavo district (grey) but that would also imply a serious lapse in Puntland's authority in Bosaso, something that has not occurred.

James, we made Bosaaso what it is today. We make up 1/3 of its business population. Plus, we dominate all of its countryside. Sadly, no one knows about it and most Somalis assume Bosaaso to be a Majeerteen city.

I always thought Bosaso was a cosmopolitan Harti city with all the different Harti Darod represented there.
