Roadmap to Federation and Unity

Post by James Dahl »

Many people are decrying the fragmentation of Somalia into autonomous states, but we should all take note that this fragmentation is making things MORE peaceful, and allowing the breakaway states to start developing their economies.

Instead of going against Qabiil, perhaps Qabiil should instead be considered the baseline upon which states should be built? Give every Qabiil a state, then get related/neighboring Qabiil together into regional governments, which can in turn be put together into a united Somalia.

Hi James,
That is the true road map of somalito reconstruct their country. This is why this TFG of somalia is established..it is federal government not central government.

But Here is why the government is having trouble implementing the federalism and establishing regional adminstartaion.

Some major tribes have no land or region which they can establish adminstartion. They lived in chaos for last 17 years.. they overpowered other peaceful tribes and captured their properties...so they oppose to any government which will try to return properties to rightful owners...They oppose to establishing regional adminstrations cuz they are used to the chaos and ignornace for last 17 years..their youth are either dead or grew up under anarchy and ignorance.
thanks, I like your road map but i lost confidence that somalis can do that in somalia.
Middle age people in somalia 25-35 have never seen functioning government, healthcare or proper education. These people are decision makers for their tribes in somalia today..how much can they contribute? they were 8-18 years of age when last government collapsed 17 years ago..imagine coming years when these people are in their 50's.. those younger than them will be worse...there is my despair!!

13 meetings were held among somali warlords in many countries..temproray governments were elected in those meeting none worked because they all took same way of peace and negotaiations among somalis..but all failed..cuz somalis there do not undertand peace.

this government is our last chance. They must speed up the process by force..people must be forced to disarm themselves and rehabilitated.
if we wait for negotiations like before we are doomed to despair.
