Because there is no place like Xamar in all of Somalia. Mild climate, closer to the rivers and farms, greener, simpy beautiful! Besides the rest of the world still recognize Mogadishu as the capital.

The only thing Xamar lacked for the past 17 years was security. It's private businesses has grown much stronger than it ever had during Siad Barre's regime, an efficient network of telecommunications, schools, colleges and MU, hospitals, multiple media outlest, there was an increasing home development...etc. With all the setbacks Xamar has continously proven to thrive without an effective figure of government.

Even with the wars and the insecurities the population in Xamar has exploded and people around Somalia keep flocking to it.

So as I said if you guys don't like Xamar, concentrate on your regions or whatever anf forget about it.

Hawiye took a huge cambuulo filled shit on Mogdishu. The capital should definately be moved to another city.

If the capital is moved, Hargeisa should be the new capital. But then again too much has been invested in Muqdisho to just be discarded.
