New era music: A new trend?

Post by Somaliweyn »

There is a new trend going on with Young Somalis. Music has become a medium to express their patriotism. While the older generation are busy with kissing Ethiopian ass.

We all know about the countless songs by Waayaha cusub like: dabadhilif, somaliyey dirir, qabqable, dadkii yaa xaasuuq?, gumeysiga Itoobiya etc.

But there is also heegan (Jaalayaaloow) by that new kid, and Somalia is One also by a new kid, not to forget the pioneers like K'naan with his soobax etc.

This is positive development, as cultural transformation is a slow process which precedes every social change.

Gradually this will grow into a movement, with every young Somali making a contribution on his own way.
