Iran has one of the best cinema there is. Very poetic without much nonesense and sexual content, Chinesse cinema is also original. Bollywood & Hollywood are both garbage.

I don't have a good grasp of non-Hollywood movies.

I like documentaries, I don't care who makes them. Even with subtitles, if it's about real things I am likely to enjoy it.

I will tell you there are two films that caught the attention of American indians in the US, which are also two of my favorites. They are LITTLE BIG MAN and DANCES WITH WOLVES. I join them in watching those two over and over again.
