an issue to me

As Salaam alakum

well the thing is iv been with this guy for about 2years now part of that tyme i was abroad deciced i would dedicate some of my tyme to study islam and the holy qur'an it was an amazin tyme subhaan allah..i recently came bk and still am with the same guy we are planning to marry soon inshallah..but before i went away i guess i could say i wasnt the same person i am today meaning i didnt pray or make tyme to worship the almighty subhaan allah but allah has blessd me by increasing my iman..! now this guy he doesnt pray at all never mind doin anything esle and i find it a big issue im nt planin to leave and abandon him i would like to encourage him and i do but he always says give me''time'' subhaan allah tyme is sumthin we dnt have he has such a western lifestyle and it really does not suite my likings..how can /should i cme to a conclusion beacause to be frank i would prefer him to keep me in a way which is halal dnt u think

pls jus giv me sum advise

The delusion of LOVE these days is widely spread among young people, they forget that once you have entered a halal marriage i.e. both the husband and wife pray and do things Allah's way then Allah Aazzwa'Jaal has promised that those on the right path who love each other for the sake of Allah only, those will he grant true love.

Now sister you say that when you came back from your Islamic studies you were not satisfied with this brother whom does not pray or stick to the sunnah...
Has Allah not had mercy on you and shown you his defects sister?

Sister by all means encourage the brother but also know that it is only Allah Subahana'wataala who guides.
You cannot spend your life waiting for this brother to change but you can make dua and thats all you can do at this stage.

Personally i would not even consider to marry someone as this brother because i know that sooner or later Iblees will tempt him and he will succumb to that temptation.
Sister seeing as how this brother does not possess the right qualities e.g. iman etc then i would cancel the wedding and wait for Allah to give me a righteous brother.

I know all this sounds harsh but it is reality...ask yourself, what do you like about this brother and is what your like about him his deen or something else?
