Sexual harassment or harmless horseplay? !!!!!!!!

Someone I know was talking with me about the restaurant in which he works. He expressed, as he has in the past, an acute dissatisfaction with his job. He continued that there were several reasons for that dissatisfaction. One of them was that “some of the people who work here do things that they think are funny but I just think they’re acting like jerks.”

I asked for examples of these behaviors.

He replied, “The waitresses prod each other in the butt with broom handles, slap each others’ butts, and grab each others’ tits.”

“That’s sexual harassment!” I exclaimed.

“No, they don’t see it that way,” he answered. “They’re not lesbians. They’re not making passes. They just think they’re being funny.”

“But I still think it’s sexual harassment,” I insisted. “The boss should tell them to stop it.”

“Well, he won’t because no one’s complaining about it.”

“I’d sure complain about it.”

“You’re lucky you don’t work here,” he said. “You wouldn’t fit in.”

So I’d like to ask my readers: Is what has been described sexual harassment or is it harmless horseplay? What is the dividing line between the two?

Some bosses are just plain perverts. They would make passes at their employees and pretend it to be just harmless play. I think it absolutely qualifies as sexual harassment.
