It seems natural disasters aka masiiboyinka rabbaaniga ah, are on the increase lately, if it's not a hurricane, it's a Tsunami, if it ain't wildfire, it's an earth quake or even sleepy mountains coming to life and oozing lava.

This must be a punishment of what the human race have been doing lately, Allah has promised to taste us some of our transgressions in this world when He said "Wa nutheeqahum bacdla ladii Camiluu" even though He is forgiving more than He is punishing us.

Could all these be natural phenomenon resulting out of human folly? I don't know. I can only tell for sure somalis have tasted and are still going through the process of punishment, paying for their sins. Poverty, insecurity, bloodshed, confusion, loss of identity in the west, anything calamitous a sinful nation goes through has touched the skinnies and they are still as stubborn as the day they started the process of self-annihilation.


The rest of the world have it easy by comparison with the exception of Iraqis and Gazans in the Levant.

Definitely ..there is a big correlation between the natural disasters and human sins. As Password said above--Somalia for instance- before its downfall--they were experiencing the most staggering sinful decadence any muslim country could engage in. The killings, and the sex was all over the place.Even killing Macaliims! Thus the wrath followed, and still following.


Tsunami--that asia coastal area was the mecca for childhood molestations by cadaan tourist and all sort of sins. San fransasico? I need not add. New Orleans?? A entire city demolished! There was incest, homo sex and all sort of deviances going on there. God is obviously watching.

mother earth sure is angry. angry at the total lack of respect and appreciation of her offerings from her offspring.

she is angry at the arrogance of men for not realising that we are all just one entity from the same mother (earth) and our miserable existance dependent on her.

so if everybody just gave thanks by kissing the ground 5 times a day may be she wouldnt be so mad.

If there is a correlation between natural disasters and our sins, and Im not saying there is or isn't.
Then why now?
Are there really any new sins? Human beings have doing these things since the beggining of time.

Why didn't all of these natural diasters Sir Luggoyyo mentioned, take place 100 years ago?

To be honest, I think the 70's ayaa ugu fasaqaad badnayd, not now.
Whynot then and why now?

I think the reasonging could be more scientific, then faith based. But that's just me.

Not to say that there is no punishment for sins, because there is. I just don't know if I can accept that we are getting punished via natural disaster.

i swear thats the signs of the day of judgement...more earthquakes and disasters and that...

ok, we already know that all the signs of the worlds end has occured, and we are only waiting for Nabi Cisse to Come back. and these natural disasters are one of the things God warned us about.

Look, there's nothing we can do to kill mother earth. It is much stronger than we are. All this alarmist talk that the earth is dying.......let's get real here. The planet isn't going to die, we are.

One thing my macalin dugsi told me when I was like 8yrs old was that the prophet begged Allah not to wipe us off with a natural disaster like the lost generations before us. So, Allah agreed not to but said that we will wipe ourselves out through wars or something like that. I think we should watch out for a Nuclear bomb and other man made phenomenon rather than a God sent natural disaster to wipe us out.

Btw, there were always forest fires and earthquakes and everything else mentioned. Earthquakes happen because of plate tectonics and forest fires are a good way of the earth re-generating itself....

But we should always take disasters as a warning and reminder from Allah that life is short and we should appreciate what we have and praise and thank God for all the favours he has bestowed upon us.
