how come djibouti is so extremly dry and hot

but borama only few miles away is so freaking green and mild

Djibouti is not dry, it is very green, only the city itself is hellish and dry, so is Borama. Compare downtown Borama (dry and hellish) to the green suburbs of the city. All urban landscape is that way. Even Bosaso has major water oasis' outside of its city limits.

Because Djibouti is by the sea , and Boroma is located not only on higher altitude but in a montainous area.
