Re: who is james dahl?
I'm just for general human decency.
I don't particularly like Iran or Eritrea, as they don't respect people and their rights, but I don't wish harm to them either, as they have enough problems. I certainly don't hate Ethiopia, I just strongly disagree with both its current leader (Meles Zenawi, who I think has become an evil dictator) and its invasion of Somalia, which is entirely unjust.
I liked the ICU not because they were fundamentalists but because they were pro-people and had progressive policies. They gave millions to help flood victims, built an inclusive government for all people including minorities, and generally tried to do good works in the country. Regardless of how things ended up or who they got into fights with, things improved in the territories they took over. My good opinion does not extend to the al-Shabbab or al-Ittihad, who do not respect human decency and only believe in violence.
As to the Saudis, I have no strong opinions about them. I think they are sort of corrupt and really backwards despite literally swimming in money, but they're not really bad folks. The TFG had good eggs and bad eggs, but the bad eggs fired all the good eggs and took over. It can still be saved if Gedi was fired, and some kind of power sharing is arranged where they merge with the ARS.
