Is Belet Xawo connected to Mandera?
Hello Children,
I could not help but notice this oddity on Google Earth (I installed it in Asmara).
Can anyone verify this, because the Eastern part of Mandera spills over into the Somali side of the border, which I presume is Belet Xawo.

It's basically one big mega-city. The border separates them into Mandeer, Kenya and Beled-Xaawo, Somalia.
Schools, markets, etc are shared.

Of what you see on the map, Mandhera is actually the small western part near the river(or the green line incase you did not know it was a river). Everything east of that is Beled Xawo.

Son QansaGabeyla,
The larger 80% is the WESTERN part, on the Kenyan side of the border. Belet Xawo is about half the size of Baardhere.

Yeah the Daawo river goes through Malkaa riyo in the northern part of Beled Xawo.......it makes the border for Doollow and Ethiopia too. Almost every city in Gedo has a river near it or going through it. I think Ceelwaaq is the only city that is not near a river. Luuq is an Island, Bardhere, Buurdhuubo and Tuulo Barwaqo are divided by the river etc.
