A Critical Look at the Hawiye-Darood Conflic

Today, wherever you go in the world and to whomever you talk to, be it educated persons Somali or non-Somalis in general population or serious Western academics in governments willing to truly speak honestly about the “root causes” of present global conflicts— the mayhem we see on TV: there is one place in the Horn of Africa region, a people and country called Somalia which continuous to stick out from the rest like a kerosene lamp in the dark twilight of the African bush.

The “root causes” of Somalia’s multi-faceted conflict invasion and occupation by Ethiopian Woyane dictatorship cuts across basically Pure Evil as we know it in our world. The evil which makes divergent enemy forces of destruction and mayhem come together, one congruent factor nonetheless outside and inside: coupled with such factors as:

Overall and never-ending Somali tribal war in the Southern Somalia accelerating now between the two, Darood gangs new role as Ethiopian collaborators/helpers VS Hawiye and Somali Resistant clans now fighting Ethiopian occupation Woyane killers ;

Neo-colonialism, a ruthless maneuver where Occupation armies of tired mercenaries fleeing Afghanistan and Iraq wars of aggression are used to push deeply into post-Independence Africa countries and peoples lives so that to destroy peace, governance, self-reliance of the African people, national territorial sovereignty of African countries and personal freedom, rights and dignity from genocide to be replaced it with never ending tribal anarchy, weak dictatorship only killing their people nothing else, more criminal gangs dumping toxins and polluting the land; and more random and senseless killings of innocent people to keep mood of anarchy in place, more bloodshed every day in the killing, propaganda and use of fear to create fear, docility and exploitation of African people and raw resources never heard before;

Those historical imperial forces of destruction which have always been present for centuries in the region; which have been spearheaded by Christian fundamentalist powers ever since Portuguese armies up until today still based in European and American Evangelic/Crusader ideology bent on the “real time, real world” creation and expansion of a mythical and unsustainable Christian Ethiopian Habasha empire of Colonization called “a Christian island” into a sea of Islam in the Horn, that is, necessitating the Big Western powers support for Ethiopian Habasha destruction and aggression against indigenous African Muslim nationalities and communities such as in Somalis, or Oromo, Afar etc ;

The 21st century American military-industrial complex forceful penetration into Post-Cold war African wars— the recent being the so called AFRICOM of the Neo-Con extremists controlling the Bush administration. AFRICOM is designed purely to make intervention into African wars become frequent; they want more invasions, more war making as peacekeeping, more tribal clashes as peace reconciliation, more wars of adventure as security operation—all to subdue some poor African and Muslim peoples who just want freedom as always. Overall, the creating of more humanitarian emergencies and starvation epidemics in Africa and Somalia to dismantle national development/ agrarian economies and instill reliance-dependency in “sweat shops” producing cheap textile goods or cash crops to buy the genetically modified food aid from USAID. Also to cultivate warlords as normal and organic political condition so that public fear of mass genocidal politicians forces them to seek help from other warlords which also serve the Western powers who help achieve for the West the native African people hopeless surrender and compliance with Western interests and conditions towards hydrocarbon exploitation and exportation— .

Today, Somalia has lost statehood under these criminal conditions, this Pure Evil which Somalia is undergoing is nonetheless a topic which predictability the Western powers manufactured and approved it’s brutal execution like Bush administration do not want to talk!

The corrupt UN, African dictatorships/killers( AU) and Arab tyrannies(LAS) who rubber stamp everything and all the genocide in Mogadishu today—in fact everyone concerned in its original perpetuation of the Ethiopian invasion, occupation-genocide including the Darood /tfg warlords— do not want to talk about in the least today!

The reason for this is?

Some of the warlords are silent because fear for war crimes prosecution( going to happen anyway), others of strong international disgust at events currently unfolding in Somalia’s occupation which lead bloody trail directly back to Washington D.C, Brussels and New York making the bosses very angry to hide it, not to mention occupied Addis Ababa dictator Meles Zinawi killing more people day by day to keep feeding his Tigrinya Agaazzi dogs and still others are silent out of fear from the unpredictable and paranoid regimes fearful of Somalia’s liberation!

But the *root causes* for decades long Somalia War that even makes the hells like Iraq, Afghanistan and of course Darfur today shake— where Black African Muslims, some claiming to be “Arab” and some “ African” are nevertheless butchering each other to genocide with US support for a balkanized Sudan— look very sensible and perfectly rational to the say the least.

But Somalia—that much absurd and incomprehensible conflict of modern times as we are told is without a question( after ICU Revolution) undergone not only a profound and lasting metamorphosis with the 2006 illegal US-backed Ethiopian invasion; but also the Somali conflict now as it stands owes its “artificial continuation” and violent existence in the country over the people to the Western powers, namely directly to their intentional and conspiratorial funding for the brutal criminal Ethiopian Zinawi regime of death and destruction.

The occupation reality in Southern Somalia is not only about the actions of the criminally insane Ethiopian regime killers, in particular Gen. Gabre and his tfg warlords’/prostitutes Abdullah Yusuf- Ali Gheedi cover for war crimes and crimes against humanity against Hawiye civilians in Mogadishu, but also about the senseless and incomprehensible nature of the meta conflict that is between the Darood invaders of the South under Ethiopian occupation and Hawiye native dwellers Resistance— a conflict in Southern Somalia which goes back to the early days of European fascists and colonialists who engineered it to stay in power and will continue until Hawiye and Somalia liberation from occupation!

A conflict which never made sense to the outside world, less to any educated Somali, in any way or shape— except perhaps to show the irrational extreme ends that possibly clan hatred in statelessness void can produce( i.e. trying to make oneself relevant in another man’s land). However, this conflict was there even before official statehood collapsed into war or if we can call the Darood-Marehan dictatorship of Siyad Barre as such official statehood collapsed. The state structure or lack of it is no explanation for the Darood-Hawiye ongoing conflict. The explanation is History, which is the colonial history.

In fact, the Darood group misused and abused the Somalia state machinery not once, but twice including Afweyne’s military terror and Abdirashid Ali Shamarke’s “governmentality” officialdom jargon of thugs in bid to exterminate, disproportional violence aimed at displacing, stealing property, raiding livestock and massacring all the Hawiye civilian, including young babies and pregnant mothers, elderly people and even in the end other people of non-Darood background labeled as regime enemies of theirs like the northern Isaak group now known as Somaliland Republic for close to 21 years until 1991 Liberation. Of course that official state genocide campaigned of Darood failed and can be read everywhere and seen everywhere whose lasting consequences only to ignite even more simmering tribal Somali Civil War conflict into international attention in 1990s and beyond: we still see in the mass graves, destroyed property and hostilities in Mogadishu under this time, only difference Ethiopian occupation forces today doing the fighting against Hawiye people for freedom; from that continuous unending conflict between Hawiye civilians and Darood criminals, thugs and foreign lapdogs started approximately with the cementation of European Italian Colonialism in the Benaadir over 100 years ago and can only end with the Occupation over, Hawiye self-determination respected by Neo-Colonialism, which is inevitable!

Unlike, the purported military and political aim of the US-backed Ethiopian occupation-genocide mission which is the complete destruction and prevention of re-emergence of any Somali statehood or real government of the Somali people at all costs (something which was achieved under ICU back in 2006). However, what is the military and political aim of the Darood-Hawiye conflict?

After the invasion of a peaceful Mogadishu and Hawiye South the aim as it related to the Darood parasitic gangs is to hide behind Ethiopian tanks, soldiers and US AC-130 gun ships to destroy Hawiye people, to loot Hawiye businesses and otherwise hope for the indefinite wholesale massacres of the Hawiye civilian population of Somalia by Ethiopia.

Or at least hope for in severe reductions of Hawiye manpower and resources. Hence, why majority of Darood civilians of all stripe everywhere to this day chief among them led by the irrelevant warlord criminal Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed are and were very much willing to live under Ethiopian complete domination/slavery as stooges of Somalia forever ( actually welcoming it). Their only hope: if only Hawiye civilians, Mogadishu property and power will be demographically destroyed, depopulate urban centers like Mogadishu and then Ethiopian destroy it or at least the economic and military capacities of the Banaadir like Bakaaraah and Suuq Ba’ad markets and hospitals and media houses like Shabelle Media Network to be significantly wrecked—which despite the atrocities in their eyes has yet not happened given the expanding Resistance which grows stronger day by day.

The Ethiopians and Neo-Colonial powers also by extension want and desire to fully continue war crimes and destruction in Mogadishu despite that 1 million have been displacement and tens and thousands killed to destroy Somalia destiny to be free.

The Hawiye bogeyman is still there for the combined cowards of Zinawi regime war coalition (USA, EU, warlords, Darood gangs, transnational mafia etc), real and kicking for them to be feared. In fact, it doesn’t matter if they are killing children and mothers, they still think “ Not enough has been done” Hawiye is still strong and alive to come back again, so more assassination and terrorist bombing against Mogadishu neighborhoods or even innocent displaced people living outside in displaced camps . For example, to illustrate this perfectly evil mentality Alisha Ryu of VOA captured in her piece Aid Workers in Somalia Fear Government Attack on Camps Near Mogadishu the fear of the criminals well when she said of the Ethiopian and tfg warlords scum open intentions to continue the genocide this time against Hawiye and HabrGedir babies:

Conclusion:

To bring death, destruction, internecine communal violence and more important foreign protected warlords in Somalia so as to fight against the self-determination of the Somali Hawiye communities, who were only rebuilding their lives and cities after decades of US-backed Barre Dictatorship, barbaric CIA-funded and trained warlords and Ethiopia to build a peaceful future, just does not make sense for the Darood today. Who were the Hawiye a threat to? To Ethiopia, was there and has there ever been any Hawiye rebel group or faction in post-Barre invading Ethiopia?

What was so hard for Darood to see peace in Mogadishu? Is Mogadishu your land first of all, how do you come to Mogadishu, who brought you to Mogadishu?

Darood were only a Colonial Uncle Tom nigger yesterday discarded by the Italian and British colonizers of Xamar and then turned into an unwanted guest who overstayed his welcome and on account of treachery, fraud and dishonorable discharge in 1991 then evicted from the house along with atrocities and pretentious dictatorship of the unqualified altogether; so what do they want from Hawiye land to sell their soul to Ethiopia is the question for the Darood gangs of Somalia?

As Ethiopian occupation: It will never make sense in however ways the Darood think led by the sheer stupidity of thinking Hawiye can be defeated by kissing Ethiopian occupiers boots so as to step on Hawiye families. They must be drunk on Booli Qaran!

Now, be smart and ask yourselves people: what did Darood gangs get for themselves or anyone in selling the country to Ethiopia, just to destroy Mogadishu (it can be rebuilt a millions times over), Somalia statehood (Today, Hawiye will be the first people to be given freedom from Ethiopia) so is the victory of the Darood today we see?

Okay, let’s face it this is everything Darood groups aspired to: to destroy the country so as to rule it under Ethiopian colonization. Now like it or not history shall record it, to put it in such words, that is to say, their laughable claims that in fact the Ethiopian Woyane dictatorship invasion of Somalia was Darood victory, hurrah! Or now are they saying, some of them say, no, no Ethiopia invaded independent of us and it was all for the Habasha’s own so called national self-interests. Is that a joke, surely it must be a jest. Of course it is, but does it excuse what they did to their homeland, if it is their homeland?


This is to say Woyane Zinawi who never bothered to respect the territorial integrity of the Somalia state for 17 years would never have invaded if it was not for the Neo-Colonial US-EU powers supporting him till today, so he is but a hired mercenary dog sent by the Neo-Colonials to go do their dirty work. No one is denying it.

But what about those Darood who freely rejected ICU peace for Ethiopian Occupation and counted on destroying Mogadishu city as tribal victory in this never ending tribal war re-born, what is their story going to be today?

Advice for the Collaborationists, parasitic mercenaries, traitors and all who count on them and other ashes in the wind for solace: Occupation is ending, it is done, you better come up with something rather more credible lie for yourselves—since no Somali is fooled and is listening let quit the “Warlord Abdullahi Yusuf is himself” hogwash, rather let the truth be told it is the warlord known as Darood fooling himself maybe into different factions, Kismaayo ring a bell?

Although i have not finished reading the whole article ,i think the auther is mistaken--there is no triabalism any more and he is stuck in the past.

Hawiye vs darod is not the case anymore ,it is survival for the whole as a whole.
