Seriously though, are there somali lullabies apart from "hooyo ma joogto, aabo ma joogo"?

for me it was "war bax seexo hadii kale..."

that put me to sleep everytime... if not, the injury did

The injuries worked for most of Somalidha
It was the best way to put children to bed, it still is i guess Confused Confused

Good topic!

I don't remember any exactly but it is whole literature of its own in Northern part of Somalia. It has its own melody and rhythm .
It starts like “hobeeya hobeeya…” like Somali poems starts with “hooyaalayeey.. hooyaalayeey”.

You need to ask grand mothers or Qaldaan mothers(Isaack , Dhuloos and Warsangeli moms). I am sure they know it!.
