Somalia: Hiran district commissioner narrowly escapes death

Mogadishu 17, Oct.07 ( Sh.M.Network)- The district commissioner of B/weyn town in central Somalia the headquarters of Hiran province Mr. Elmi Saney Kassim by a whisker escaped death over night when a hand bomb was targeted at a car he was driving in down town Beled Weyn.

By the time of the event the DC was coming from the house of the provincial commissioner of the region Mr. Yussuf Dabaged.
This morning the DC held a press conference and said it was only God who saved his life, but the wrongdoers were intending to bring his life to an end.

Saney said the bomb went off just 10 steps from his car and caused no harm to his life.

“The individuals behind the incident are not known” said the DC and investigations will be carried out to track down the culprits he added.

Earlier there were some assassination attempts to kill both the PC and the DC of Hiran region, this will be the second time the DC escaped death.
