To me thou i left somalia at a very young age...but i think Holwadaag was the best place to live.. beautiful and friendly environment.. next comes xamarweyne where you can find xalwo and muuufo.. and nice people ...
those 2 places i could never forget... i hope many will agreee... peace

--> dad's father bought home in waberi in '63
--> dad bought home in medina around '82
--> gave it to older brother when he came back from war in '88
--> bought a home in hodan in '88

Yeah, i might not consider xamar my home, but it sure was the heart of the nation.

Hodan was good, cuz it was close to downtown and Madaxtooyada. I use to live just under Mekka-Al-mukarama Hotel --you know that 5 star building -I think its Ali-mahdi.
I disagree with Howl-wadaag -even though my aunt use to live there, Howl Wadaag was some kind of Ghetto --I have seen Cayaal-faacali sniffing glue and robbing ppl.
Medina was the best --I use to live there before we move to Hodan --so I getta give to Medina ---Cayaalka Xaafad dhan use to live in Medina, we use to joke all day untill 2 in the morning, even playing soccer on "jid-cadaha" playing cards, watching Tom & Jerry or Iftax Ya Zamzam (Nucmaan lool) those were the good ol days!

We had a house on top of a hill in Xamarweyne, close to Anzalotti, but my grandfather's Habar Gidir wife inherited it. He married her when she was 17.
