Zimbabwe was one of the mineral rich countries the cadaan actually though of implanting their people in. They built it and implanted their people there to a degree (like South Africa) that they were able to continue on as the rulers even after colonialization and has never experienced true war.

Zimbabwe was once the richest country in Africa. It wasn't kicking white farmers out of the country that ruined Zimbabwe, but Mugabe's corruption. The wealth of Zimbabwe was not taken from a rich white minority and given to the poor black majority, but rather it was taken from a minority of rich white farmers and given to a tiny cabal of Mugabe's close personal friends.

The white Zimbabweans were racist pigs who deserved to have their lands taken, but the really knew how to farm, especially farming in Zimbabwe's unique environment. The cabal that Mugabe gave all that incredibly productive agricultural land to didn't even know how to hook a plow up, let alone rotational crop methods and agribusiness.

It's basically the equivalent of a Somali nomad's entire flock of goats being given to me. I wouldn't know how to take care of them, and they'd all die or run off or something, and I'm left with nothing.

Not content to merely ruin the economy, Mugabe then embarked on a spending spree. There is a reason Harare looks so nice, he dumped billions into infrastructure and raising the standard of living. Zimbabwe couldn't afford any of this, so Mugabe minted trillions of bills, causing obscene hyperinflation.

Somalis have one over the Zimbabweans, as they refused to cooperate in murdering their own economy, and did not ship the papers. Zimbabwe has been doing what Adde Musa has done for a few years for a few decades.

Zimbabwe today cannot afford to buy electricity or even bread. Somalia can resolve their goods and services crisis simply with a ceasefire. Bam, problem solved. Zimbabwe? It will take decades for Zimbabwe's economy to recover, if it ever does.
