i never used pay attention to the ingredients in cold/cough medicines until recently when i felt like i was drunk(not that i've ever been drunk before) after taking this over the counter cough medince. like WTF?? now i check almost all these cold/flu meds sitting on drugstore shelves and i swear almost all of them contain alcohol....

that's it...i'm never takin' them ever!!! chicken soup and a day in bed will be my cure for the common cold from now.

Night Nurse is 17% alcohol.

Zulaika, it is not only in the cough medicinces. Alcohol, sugar alcohol etc is found in many food items too.

Maybe it is in the medicine, for the knock-out feeling it gives you. Who doesn't want a good night sleep when they are sick?

Give me the night-time sniveling, sneezing , coughing aching I have a head-ache medicine - nyquil p.m.

Every one of them have some specific information about how and when to use, side effects, I think everyone should read the instructions careful before use. And if u forget to shake the medicine u can always shake your azz instead.

I’m no expert so don’t take my word for it. I heard it’s in cough medicine because just like a shot or stiff drink, it relaxes your muscles and makes you drowsy.

When I’m sick with a cold I find taking a shot of Rumplemintz very effective. Not only does it clear my sinuses, I get full nights sleep.

Alcohol in the meds allows u to fall asleep faster.

Don't knock the cough syrup as it is used by many garoobs to silence their caruur when a date comes over.
