
Somalia: Roadside bomb targeted at an Ethiopian convoy
Mogadishu 03, Nov.07 ( Sh.M.Network)- An explosion targeted at an Ethiopian convoy coming towards Mogadishu occurred in the early hours of this morning at a place near Balidogle location in Lower Shabelle region in Somalia.
The Ethiopian troops were from Baidoa town the temporary base of the transitional federal government and were coming to Mogadishu city to reinforce the Ethiopian troops in Mogadishu. As the dwellers in the area are reporting the explosion was a road side mine.
Yet the genuine damage of the troop is not manifest, but as the residences are reporting the troops stopped their trip for a while and again proceeded towards Mogadishu.
So far no group came forward to claim for the explosion, but it is believed to be part of the recent attacks aimed at the Somali government soldiers and their ally the Ethiopian troops.
The Ethiopian convoy was fifty carrying soldiers and some mounted with artilleries and cannons. Their departure came after yesterday’s terrible combat between their soldiers in Mogadishu and the opposing group. In yesterday’s fight five of the Ethiopian soldiers are said to have been killed.
