Fresh clashes break out in Somalia’s capital.
Mogadishu 04, Nov.07 ( Sh.M.Network)-Fierce gun battle has broken out between Ethiopian troops and Islamic insurgents at the former pasta factory in Huruwa district where Some Ethiopian troops have base in the Somalia capital Mogadishu,
The fighting started around 5:45 Pm a local time, before Maqrib prayer.
Both sides have been using heavy weapons as the fighting once intensified after Maqrib prayer performed.
Intense fighting has sparked after a group of insurgents launched an ambush attack against Ethiopian base.
It is reported that the fighting was lasted for an hour.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
According to Abdi Noor, a local resident, the insurgents have fired at least 10 mortar rounds against Ethiopian base at Former pasta industrial unit in Huruwa district in Mogadishu sparking intense gun battle between the insurgents and Ethiopians.
The flying bullets were hitting on residential areas near by.
Sporadic gunfire could be heard though, the fighting has subsided around 7:00 pm a local time.
Insurgents and pro-government forces have fought frequent battles in Mogadishu since the government seized control of the city from an Islamist movement earlier this year.
