I was in my microbiology class falling asleep and all of a sudden the names of two bacterias struck me Streptomyces. somaliensis and sudanensis. luckily i and an arab friend of mine were the only two in the lecture to get it.i thought "those
cheeky bastards". Laughing

Streptomyces are very colorful and interesting. They are a G-positvie bactrica found in soil mostly. The S. somaliensis is found mostly in dry, arid areas and is known to cause various fungal and bacteriall Mycetoma.

BTW Many bacteria and parasites are named usually after the places they were first discovered or who people who found them.
