W/salaam

Naaima,

I would not care if she did not cover up unless we are going to a religious event or hosting some old school relatives.

I dont want her to cover up for me..esp. If she doesnt do it because of what Allah has reccomended.

One has to do things for the sake of his/her creator not for me.

If she's not wearing hijab right now, that's one thing.

But if she said she doesn't want to wear hijab or dress modestly then I can't start a future w/ that girl.

As far as religiously, if she:

1. Dresses modestly w/ hijab
2. Prays regularly.

I think other things can be negotiated. But a girl that doesn't want to pray or wear hijab EVEN after we get married, then she is not commited to her religion.

I can't trust my children's mother to someone who is not serious about their religion. I know in a person's young age stuff happens and there is room to grow, but if a girl is talking about marriage and she doesn't want to that then it means she doesn't want to become a better Muslim throughout her life.

That's why I make the distinction on before/after marriage.

Trust me...All the Hijab girls are not as decent as one thinks...

Naima,

I think if a guy is good enough to capture the heart of his girl she will walk on her head if he wants Laughing Ninka ragga ah, wallee naagtiisu wuxuu yidhaahdaba way samayn...Laakiin doqon xun... Cidina ma maqasho... (Kaftan)...

But why are we talking of Hijab only? If I were a guy looking for a wife that wouldn't be a priority for me walaahay....Hadda khalad ha iga fahmin...I wear Hijaab....But I wouldn't want to be evaluated by the Hijab only...I was as decent as I am now when I was not wearing the Hijab...At least when it comes to men and stuff...

cawar,

exactly huuno. if I cover up, its to please Allah only and not some jealous farax. what I don’t get though are faraxs who obviously have no problem with me not wearing a hijab when they first lay they eyes on me...because they approach me and want to have a relationship with me(marriage) but when married want me all covered up. why don’ they just get themselves a hijabi girl from the get-go. Rolling Eyes

kambuli,

yeah you're right xijaab doesn't mean anything without the personality....some girls wear hijab and throw it off in the clubs of downtown.
