He was working for the United Nations during the inception of the USC, he was working in a remote town and one day, members from the USC came to that twon and took over, then they came to the compound of the UN, asked all staff member to make a line including him and the head of the office who was a Ducth national. Then they started asking their qabiil, everyone told their qabiil or the qabiil they thought would be safe to claim. Then one of them asked the white dude what his qabiil is? The white dude realized he was being addressed but failed to understand the question, he asked the Somali guy what the question was. The Somali interpreted it for him "They wanna know your clan" to which he answered Dutch, then one of the USC members told the guy who asked the question "why do you ask a white man what clan he belongs to, you can see he is white" The one who posed the question answered "Regardless, if he is white or black, he must belong to a clan, and I wanna know which"
