Actually a rape victim according to the our religion (islam) ...Deserves our sympathy and empathy and nothing else.........These twisted desert rats have mixed and matched our religion to suit their needs....No a rape victim does not get punished....How the heck would the victim get punished for a crime they were subjected....ISlam is a just religion..No a barbaric one.........I can't believe y'all discussing how many lashes a rape victim gets...Tut tut tut.....It's the rapist that gets punished not the victim....The reapist should get the death penalty according to ISlam....Lets not confuse the Saudi corrupt legal system with the Sharia law.

how can u say such a thing about sharia system in saudi implies! please get your facts straight before u jump in to such an issue! sunxnaallah!
this what really happend just dont be fooled by the what the media of today feed you with!asalamuaalykum
This is what really Hapened to the so-called Rape Victim,
The summery of all this is that there are certain facts that no one denies, such as that this young married women was in illicit relationship with another man, and that she went to the corniche with her lover in the darkness of the night.
Thereafter, people differ as to what exactly happened. Her husband claims that the men came around, kidnapped the man and the woman raped the latter. When asked for proof, he replied that the men themselves have confessed to their crimes in a written form.
They looked at the confessions and saw that some of them did not take part in the 'ordeal' at all, while others confessed to just witnessing it.
The defendants claimed on the other hand that they saw this woman walking suspiciously, so they followed her all the way until she got into the man's car and went to the corniche and found her naked with the man. When the woman noticed them she quickly put her abaya on and she and the man went back to their car. The guys then asked the man why is he accompanying a woman who he is not a mahram to, etc And the man told him to go to a farm and talk it out there and not on corniche in public view. They went to the farm, and there the woman confessed to them that she is in fact married, and she even offered herself to them all but they refused and left.
They were asked about their confessions, they said they were forced.
So the bottom line is this:
The men had no proof against them, except what the prosecutor had to offer, i.e. their own confessions, which they said were taken by force. And even if they had made true confessions, the retractation of those confessions is a factor which leaves enough doubt to wave off the Hadd punishment for Haraba, the punishment for which is that they "be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land." (5:33) It would be absurd for the men to be punished in this manner, based on the word of an immoral young woman. However, due to circumstantial evidence and their previous conviction, even if there isn't enough proof to give them a hadd punishment, they can still be given ta'zir, punishments left to the discretion of the judge, and hence, they were given two to nine years in prison.
As for the woman and her lover, then again, there was no proof that she had intercourse with her lover, and therefore, she could not be given the hadd punishment for adultery. However, since both of them willingly confessed that they were guilty of illicit relationship, and the fact that it all coincides with the evidences gathered against them (phone calls, pic exchange, etc), they were both given lashes only.
This is the reality of what happened in the court. Bearing in mind that this took place MONTHS before the case even got to the court, that's when the woman's husband received an email about it and confronted his wife with it. She, and her lover had been quite about it all that time. She also refused to do physical examination, and her own husband often refused to turn up to the hearing.
In light of all of this, and in such an extreme case, they got off very lightly, and I think the judgement against them was very lenient, and why wouldn't it be if the judges adhered to the Sharia, a principle of which states: "Avoid the Hudud if there are doubts involved..."
But the lawyer, al-Lahem, who has sold his soul to the devil, now gets the secularist media involved, and even the BBC in order to influence the court's decision, while this same hypocrite says to the BBC: "This is astonishing because justice is supposed to be independent from all pressures as well as personal considerations, be it a feeling towards the lawyer or defendant herself"
The anti-Islamic and hardcore secularist newspaper, Arab News, reports "Qatif Court Convicts Rape Victim"; So here we have the media, the judge, the jury and the executioner, that openly declares the men guilty of rape, based on a woman's word who confessed to having illicit relations with another man! This is not asking for JUSTICE justice... this is asking for 'rabble justice' that we are dished out in the West! This is when the media decides who the witch should be, and the people are then let loose to stone them to death, before they even get to the court! And even when they DO get to the court alive, guess who the jury is? The same old rabbles from the street who have already been brainwashed by the media for several years! Result? Abu Hazma goes to jail for five years, and Nick Griffin comes out victorious!
This is the 'mob justice' the secularists from Arab News want to bring to Saudi Arabia. In fact, the men accused of rape are well within their rights to sue the kafir-boot-licking Arab News for libel! You can't just go around calling people rapists, or even implying that! The least they could have done is use a bit of brains like the BBC and placed 'Rape Victim' in quotes.
But just take it as a rule of thumb, when you get these sort of news articles on Arab News and other such secular news papers, be certain that this is not news. This is just advertisement for anti-Islamic agenda. News, is what you do NOT read on Arab news and BBC.
