Actually they are there under AU mandate. The UN mandate was that Ethiopia was not to invade, nor any of the bordering states, and that the arms embargo be enforced.

Ugandan troops are under AU mandatee and they are not like Ethiopian troops ... So attacking them is attacking peacekeepers Ugandan troops they do not kill civilians like Ethiopians do... actually they try to help civilains... those who are attacking them they just want to make situation even worst ...

Ugandan troops are in Mogadishu to legtimize the Ethiopian occupation and keep this illusion of ''AU force to Mogadishu'' alive.

We all know that Ethiopian soldiers are in Somalia for their ancient dream of expanding into Somali territory and Indian ocean. But what are Ugandans doing in Somalia?

First of all, they get nice amount of money which is basically fast money since they do nothing except chill in safe area's. Secondly, The Ugandan Museveni is a close friend of Meles Zenawi and thus cooperates with him in his Horn of Africa policy. Thirdly, the Ugandan Museveni is a dictator ruling more than 20 years, and he wants to stay on since he is the ''darling of the West''..so his offering of troops to Somalia is to appease the Western powers.

The Ethiopian troops are well-motivated and have received basically total freedom from Addis Abbeba in oppressing the Somali people. The Ugandan troops on the other hands have light equipment, are not motivated, and thus are the weakest link in this occupational force.

By targeting them, the resistance can achieve more than targeting the Ethiopians.

For example, dozen Ugandan deaths makes headlines, while dozen Ethiopian deaths gets hushed up by the Ethiopian officials.

Also, by targeting the Ugandans the resistance can send a clear message to Washington and Brussels: ´Somalia doesn´t want interference, and especially not from Aid-infested African troops´

Defeating the weak link will hasten the defeat of the larger enemy: Ethiopia.
